Quota Tournament: a format in which golfers earn points for their scores on each hole with the objective of accumulating enough to beat (or come closest to) their pre-set goal.

Hole scores earn points as follows:

• Bogey - 1 point

• Par - 2 points

• Birdie - 3 points

• Eagle - 4 points

• Double Eagle - 5 points

• Hole-in-One - 6 points

Note: points are for gross scores because playing handicap is used in determining quota.

Golf Genius Quota Format: In this version, all players begin with zero points. Golfers’ playing handicaps are subtracted from 36. What remains is the point total they attempt to surpass.

• Course handicap of 10 = a quota of 26 (36 minus 10). Golfer is trying to beat 26 points.

• Course handicap of 24 = a quota of 12 (36 minus 24). Golfer is trying to beat 12 points.

Again, golfer who exceeds his quota by the most wins. If nobody beats their quota, the highest score wins!
